About 21 Square Bar + Kitchen
Located at 3635 Fashion Way, Torrance, CA 90503, 21 Square Bar + Kitchen operates as a restaurant serving Torrance in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 6:30 amβ11 pm. With 4.0 out of 5 on Google from 96 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for restaurants in Torrance. Recent reviews are the best guide.
Torrance is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Torrance follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Food is a bit expensive but good. Atmosphere is great on a summer.

Food and service is great, but misleading parking ruined the night. Online it says that they give a 2 hour validation, but that is no longer the case. You have to pay $16 just to eat here! There's are many other great places to eat where you don't have to pay $16 just to park! Don't bother! It's great, but expensive and not worth it, when you can dine and not have to pay upcharges.

I recently visited the restaurant at the Marriott, and while the overall experience had its ups and downs, there are definitely a few noteworthy highlights. The service was genuinely commendable staff were attentive, polite, and seemed genuinely eager to make the dining experience pleasant. From being seated promptly to having our questions about the menu answered patiently, the hospitality stood out. The bar shelf is well-stocked and visually impressive, featuring a solid selection of both classic and premium spirits. It's clear some thought has gone into the curation, and for casual drinks or a quick unwind, it's a comfortable spot to sit. That said, the food and drinks left something to be desired. While nothing was outright bad, the dishes felt uninspired and under-seasoned. The cocktails were average at bestβmissing the depth or balance you'd expect from a place with such a strong bar presence. In short, it's a great place for service and ambiance, with a decent bar to enjoy, but donβt set your expectations too high when it comes to the culinary side. Final though! "Meh π"

The barstaff were pleasant, but the food and drinks are mediocre and overpriced. Issue is the mandatory service charge on almost non-existent service. Met some friends for casual drinks. We stayed a while, and all ordered drinks directly from the bar the whole time as we did not have a server. A service charge was still added to our tabs as management claimed we were a "large party" -with that mindset every single person in the restaurant could be considered apart of a large party. Our tables weren't bussed so we took the finished drinkware back to the bar each time we went for refills. 20% tip on table service may be standard, but a 20% imposed tip on overpriced drinks that we order and serve ourselves is silly.

First a bit of context, I would not seek out this restaurant if I was not staying in the hotel. That said, it is a good option for those who are staying and it is better than wandering around looking for something else in this part of Torrance. The food and service are fairly good for a hotel based establishment. The food has its ups and downs, for example, I did not care for the bbq sandwich, but the seared tuna is solid. The apps also seem solid. Staff is great and service reflects the price they have in their jobs. Ambiance is very good for a hotel and dining outside at a table or by the fire pit is really nice.
